Users review: Id never read one of the novels of Lee Child Jack Reacher, so I went in without any specific expectations about the image of the character. However, this film certainly lives up to expectations ANY thriller fans who might have had in my opinion! After seeing Tom Cruise as a flamboyant, charming and a little scout-ish Ethan Hunt in the past, its refreshing to see someone who is almost as ruthless and mysterious as Jason Bourne or Daniel Craig's portrayal of James Bond him. Jack Reachers Appeal in the fact that hes a larger than life figure, or the world's largest bada # # ... is this lie that hes normal, completely relatable and very realistic person, although trained and experienced soldier and detective in the fact . Rosamund Pike does a great job as a lawyer, Helene, far from glamorous Bond girls (one who portrayed Pike) and Lara Croft style action heroines who usually populate the action movie genre. Instead shes a three-dimensional character with their own concerns, fears, beliefs and flaws. One of the great things about how the movie is, without wavering from his story, but not really highlight some key issues; political debates on gun control, to provide legal representation for terrorists, politics around the activities of military personnel abroad to the corrupt political-industrial nexus ... not necessarily on the side or trying to get across as preachy moralistic. In short, Jack Reacher is almost slice of life piece ... although, very dark and dirty slice of life.
