Users review: In short, some movies never remade. Oldboy serves as a reminder quite few exceptions: Americanized remakes of foreign films are loved and admired inevitably lead to disappointment. For viewers who do not know the story behind the Spike Lees Oldboy, movie 2013 remake of 2003 South Korean film cult classic of the same name, directed by Chan-wook Park.
